Happy Valentine’s Day! I did a shoot yesterday with my kids, and while the little one didn’t really cooperate, I got some great shots of the bigger two

And something I don’t normally play around with much.. textures. This is likely a bit much but I had fun doing it so I thought I’d share anyways

I suppose it’s technically not high key because he’s wearing sort of dark clothing, but I nailed these on the first try and I’m so proud of myself!

I can’t say that he liked it much this time….

So I went with a small basket instead – I love the size of this, just right to sit in

When I took him out he kept trying to get back in, it was cute!

I also snapped a pic of myself with him.. and then one with DH.. I love how casual these ended up, and I think I may make a story board with some of these.

It’s been a while since I attempted pictures in the studio that didn’t involve trying to photograph what the kids were wearing… and I was WAY overdue to change out that brown paper. I love the brown paper, but I’ve been craving some variety! I’m also experimenting with some rim lighting, and I’m liking the results much more than just using a reflector to the side.

Seth was jumping around so I snapped a few of him in mid-air. These were a lot of fun for both of us.

I think he’s becoming my favorite subject..

They have these at Wal*Mart again, in stripes, this solid, and polka dots. This is cup #4 for me.. I think I have a problem.. lol

Isn’t she the sweetest thing… a rare moment with her, lately. She’s easiest to photograph “in her element” outside, but the weather has been pretty bad here lately – cold and wet – so I’ve been limited to indoor shots. And another few shots, just for fun. This first one shows quite a bit of distortion from being so close with my 30mm. And here’s one I took a couple of days ago of Odin… I couldn’t get him to look *at* me for anything.. ugh.
